The latest incarnation of Fair Lawn On Jones can be tracked back to its origins in 1761 as the Fair Lawn Plantation, on what is now East Broad St. In the 1830's Major William Bowen built an estate, also known as Fair Lawn, which was noted for it's "luxuriant garden".

This intimate condominium complex on one of the most prestigious streets, Jones Street, in the nation's largest historic district, was built in 1996. Upscale upgrades of this complex were just completed in 2000. The Fair Lawn on Jones complex anchors the resurgent regeneration of this important portion of the district with it's almost completed renovation at the E. Jones, E. Taylor St. and Broad St. quadrant of the historic district and the Beach Institute.
